Investigating Science Books

These days there is many great Science books available that cater for all levels of background understanding. It would be impossible to create an exhaustive list of these books but rather below you will find a selection that are great secondary sources for the Investigating Science course.

A short history of nearly everything - Bill bryson

One of my favourite books on the history of Science; "A Short History of Nearly Everything" is a must read for every Science Teacher / Enthusiast.
Bill Bryson's book is thoroughly researched and includes an comprehensive bibliography to allow you to look up the original articles used to write the book.

Dark emu - Bruce Pascoe

Understand more about Aboriginal Culture and the fact that the Indigenous Australians the traditional owners of this great country were not hunters and gathers but dramatically changed the landscape with their own Agriculture that was unique to the Australian Landscape.

This book had been thoroughly researched and includes many quotes verbatim from the early explorers, settlers & pastoralists. A must read for all Australians to learn more about the culture and the truth about many of the early encounters between the two cultures.
